Tamil New Year, Vishu, Baisakhi

Vaisakhi diyan lakh lakh vadhaiyan! Vishu Ashamsakal! Iniya Puthandu Vazhthukal!
Hear the beat of the dhol! Baisakhi is the grand harvest festival of Punjab. It is a high-energy celebration of gratitude for a bountiful crop and a tribute to the spirit of community. From vibrant Bhangra dances to the joy of togetherness, Baisakhi radiates optimism and strength.
Marking the astronomical New Year in Kerala, Vishu is centered on the Vishukkani—the first thing one sees upon waking. Surrounded by the golden glow of Kanikkonna flowers, coins, and fruit, we welcome a year of luck and overflowing abundance. It’s a day for family, traditional Sadhya feasts, and the joy of Vishukaineetam.
Celebrate the arrival of Chithirai! Puthandu is a time of renewal, marked by the tray of auspicious items—the Kanni—and the sharing of Maanga Pachadi. This unique dish, blending sweet, sour, and bitter flavors, reminds us to embrace all experiences in the coming year with balance and grace.
